Review: The old 18 gas log set which was there when I bought my house finally quit working. It was old, ugly, and had some broken logs. It never did look very realistic (especially when it was off) and was a struggle to start and stop. Rather than fix it, I replaced the whole thing. The replacement set by Real Fyre is absolutely stunning. It arrived quickly and was very well packed. The components are top quality (especially the logs) and the installation was a snap. Any careful DIY homeowner can easily install this log set. The instructions are quite complete however, since they contain details on several kinds of burners, several ignition options, and several log sets, you must pay attention to be sure you're reading the correct page for the options you selected. I opted for the remote electronic ignition option with variable flame height mainly because I use propane and a standing pilot light is a significant part of the running cost. I couldn't be more pleased with this good looking unit. The fire and associated logs and embers are all very realistic. It looks good when it's off too, which it is most of the time. Good job Real Fyre. Highly recommended. Not inexpensive, but I'd say it's worth every penny.
